Exceptional Animal Films to Inspire

Extraordinary animal films to inform and delight you visually. Most are free to watch and all of them are essential to broaden your awareness of the thrilling and exciting, but often dangerous lives these precious animals live. We are the recipients of the immense joy that they bring us every day and we must step out, speak up and help them to survive.

Isa Leshko Photography
Wonderful images of elderly animals who are often forgotten.
Isa Leshko Artist Statement
I also want my images to inspire greater empathy toward animals, particularly farm animals. It is very rare for a farm animal to actually live its full natural lifespan given that most of these animals experience brutality and death early in their lives. By depicting the beauty and dignity of these creatures in their later years, I want to encourage people to question and challenge the way farm animals are currently treated. I am still traveling extensively to create new images for this project. I fund the project through sales of my fine art prints. Please contact one of my galleries for additional information on purchasing my work

Lori Fusaro
Los Angeles animal photographer wants to change people's perceptions of older dogs and help more of them find loving homes. Alarmed by how many senior dogs languish in shelters because no one wants them, Fusaro launched a “Silver Hearts” photography project to show how much older dogs have to offer. On the website below are photos from the project. www.fusarophotography.com
Glass Walls film Paul McCartney
13 minutes-graphic, but this is what is being kept from the public. If people knew of the unspeakable cruelty against these precious beings they would be outraged. If you are a spiritual wimp, don’t watch this. IF YOU MUSTER UP THE COURAGE, THIS SHORT FILM WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation - NRK
Incredible story with fabulous photographs of this dog Tinni, in Norway who has become best friends with a fox, who was named Snusen, by Tinni’s owner, photographer, Torgeir Berge. They meet every day when his owner, Torgeir, takes his Shepherd for a walk in the woods. When Torgeir whistles, the fox comes running and they play together joyfully like best friends. More proof that animals are social creatures, have a sense of humor, and love to play and amuse themselves. Look for Mr. Berge’s photographic book coming out about the remarkable relationship between these unusual friends.
"EXPOSED: USDA's Secret War onWildlife"
In our newest film you'll see three former federal agents and a Congressman blow the whistle on the USDA's barbaric and wasteful Wildlife Services program and expose the government’s secret war on wildlife. Dec. 1, 2013 - An agency within the USDA called Wildlife Services—a misnamed entity if there ever was one—has been having their way for almost a century, killing over 100,000 native predators and millions of birds each year, as well as maiming, poisoning, and brutalizing countless pets. They have also seriously harmed more than a few humans. And they apparently think they are going to continue getting away with it. But in our new documentary, EXPOSED: USDA’s Secret War on Wildlife, whistle-blowers go on the record showing Wildlife Services for what it really is—an unaccountable, out-of-control, wildlife killing machine for corporate agriculture and the hunting lobby.

Blackfish (documentary, 2013)
Review/Essay: Blackfish [documentary, 2013]

This documentary is a powerful indictment of SeaWorld and other aquatic amusement parks that keep orcas (killer whales) in captivity and make them do tricks. These highly intelligent and social nonhuman persons fare poorly in captivity. In confinement, they often fight and injure each other, something that rarely occurs in the wild. Frustrated and angry, they frequently harm their trainers and each other. The documentary focuses most attention on Tilikum, who was kidnapped from his pod when he was a child and, over the course of his life, has killed three people.
